3. What browsers do I need to view Unicode Tamil WebPages?
- If you are running Windows 7, Vista , Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP and you are using either of the following browsers:
- Internet Explorer version 5.0 and later versions
- Opera version 6.0 and later
- Mozilla Firefox version 1.0.5 and later
- If you are running MacOS, you are using Netscape Navigator 4.5 or later (but not version 6)
- If you are running Linux, you are running Netscape Navigator version 4.5 or later (but not version 6).
4. I am using the above said browsers and platforms. But still I’m unable to view your site. What can I do?
Make sure whether you are using correct encoding format. To do this,
(a) In Internet Explorer
Click on View menu >> Encoding >> More >> Unicode (UTF-8)
(b) In Opera
Click on View menu >> Encoding >> Unicode >> UTF-8
(c) In Mozilla Firefox,
Click on View menu >> Character Encoding >> Unicode (UTF-8).
(d) In Netscape Navigator,
Click on View menu >> Character Encoding >> More Encoding >> Unicode >> Unicode (UTF-8).
5. I have done all these. Yet, I am unable to view the pages. What do I do?
Installing ARUMBU TAMIL UNCIODE fonts might solve your problem.

6. Even after installing the fonts, pages are not readable in browsers other than Internet Explorer. Is there any other steps to follow?
Yes. For this, Windows XP CD is needed.
- Go to Control panel >> Regional languages and settings
- Click "languages" tab in the dialog box
- Check "Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages (including Thai)".
- Click Ok in the Msgbox appearing.
- Click Ok. It will prompt for the folder "i386" from your CD. Insert Windows XP CD and navigate to the folder "i386"
- Click Ok. follow the installation steps.
- You are done.
Now the unicode font will appear properly in any browser.
